授業の目的【日本語】 Goals of the Course(JPN)	群については3年次の講義でも学習したと思いますが,この卒業研究では群と解析, 幾何との関連をより詳しく学習することを目標とします.
授業の目的【英語】 Goals of the Course	The notion of groups is one of the most versatile in mathematics. It has developed through interaction with geometry, analysis and physics and it is this seminar’ s purpose to expose students to such developments in order to deepen their understanding of groups.
到達目標【日本語】 Objectives of the Course(JPN)	次のいずれかについて理解することを目標とする．群と解析の関係については参考書のDym-McKeanまたは, Howeの論文が良い目標となります．群と幾何の関係はについては Fulton-Harrisの本が目標になります.
到達目標【英語】 Objectives of the Course	We aim to cover material equivalent to one of the following books/articles but not exclusively. For the connection with analysis, either the classic book by Dym-McKean, or the article by Roger howe. Fulton-Harris is a standard book in order to understand connections with geometry.
授業の内容や構成 Course Content / Plan	以下に挙げた本，論文をメインに学生が学習したことをセミナーで発表する形式とする．週に1回か2回, 合わせて3時間くらい, おもに輪講形式のセミナーとなる予定です．
履修条件 Course Prerequisites	一二年次の微分積分，線形代数を十分に理解していること．
関連する科目 Related Courses	代数学，幾何，解析の講義
成績評価の方法と基準 Course Evaluation Method and Criteria	セミナーにおける発表をもとに成績評価をする．発表時の質疑応答によって当初理解が不十分であっても主題についての理解が深まることが重要な評価ポイントとなる．
不可(F)と欠席(W)の基準 Criteria for “Fail(F)” & “Absent(W)” grades	輪講形式のセミナーであるから参加し，発表することが必須となる．
教科書・テキスト Textbook	セミナー希望者と相談の上決める．参考書に挙げたものと同内容のものが望ましい．
参考書 Reference Book	Dym, McKean, "Fourier Series and Integrals", Fulton, Harris, "Representation Theory-A First Course", Springer Howe, "On the role of the Heisenberg group in harmonic analysis" (Project Euclid より無料でダウンロード可能)
課外学習等 (授業時間外学習の指示) Study Load(Self-directed Learning Outside Course Hours)	セミナーで一時間発表するためにはかなりの時間を費やすこととなる．10時間程度はかかるものと思ってほしい．
