We review Cherednik's construction of Macdonald operators. Cherednik introduced double affine Hecke algebra, which is a deformation of the group ring of the affine Weyl group. It is shown that this algebra includes two polynomial rings, one of which is regarded as the Macdonald operators, and the other the Macdonald polynomials.
