Title Numerical Analysis and Computation for Light Propagation in Tissue

Abstract

A new modality with near infrared light is being developed for noninvasive monitoring of tissue or brain activities. A mathematical model of light propagation in tissue is the radiative transport equation which is an integro-differential equation.For the sake of reliability and accuracy, both theoretical numerical analysis and efficient numerical techniques are required. In the presentation we will introduce backgrounds and our recent achievements, such as finite volume method and novel distributions of sampling points on the sphere.
