What are the differences between International (G30) and Japanese Master Programs
A1
Outside of the differences in application requirements and entrance examinations, the main differences are the starting date (October vs. April) and the required credits from lectures. The international program requires 10 credits (e.g. 5 semester-long lectures) either from the program itself (in English) or from the Graduate School of Mathematics, while the Japanese program requires 12 credits, allowing also lectures from other graduate schools (with some restrictions). Additionally, the Japanese program requires to pass a preliminary test before writing the Master Thesis. (Jun. 1, 2022)
