アブストラクト: In a past few years, a class of 4d supersymmetric gauge theories related to M5-brane compactification on a Riemann surface has been widely studied, related to various areas in theoretical physics and mathematics. In this seminar we discuss the N=1 version of the class of theories which flow to IR N=1 superconformal fixed point, associated to a Riemann surface with additional data, after reviewing the N=2 construction by Gaiotto. In the construction a puncture has information of a flavor symmetry of the 4d theory, and this classifies theories. We identify a duality frame where theory has a UV Lagrangian description by using the Higgsing technique. This clarifies N=1 dualities among theories with UV Lagrangians and ones without no known Lagrangian, as a symmetry of the Riemann surface.
