Lectureship in Mathematics (full-time three year contract) .

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Dublin City University is recruiting 
a full-time temporary Lecturer . The appointment will start on 1-st September 2008 
and will be tenable for three years .

The School .

The School of Mathematical Sciences runs BSc. programmes in Actuarial Mathematics , 
Financial Mathematics and Applicable Mathematics , 
as well as specialised postgraduate programmes . 
It is also involved in the delivery of service teaching to most Faculties 
in the University .
The research activities of the School cover Algebra , Differential Equations , 
Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Education and Theoretical Physics .

The position .

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute significantly to the teaching 
and research activities of the School . 
A commitment to teaching undergraduate students is essential , 
and evidence of successful teaching is desirable . 
Applicants must hold a PhD. in Mathematics or in a closely related field . 
Preference may be given to applicants whose field of research matches 
one of those represented in the School , 
but outstanding applicants from any field will be considered .
