This was already the case for lablgtk-2.2.0, so there is nothing surprising there. lablgtk-2.x.x is just a version number for lablgtk2. For internal versioning, I suggest you rather use the release date: lablgtk2-20040715. Some people may still have some lablgtk1 code around, and there is no reason to disturb them. Jacques
