You can have a look at OCamlCVS, included in Cameleon : it builds a tree of directories, see the file ocamlcvs/ocvs_tree.ml in the distribution.

BTW, if you look for more examples about how to use some widgets, you can have a look at the Lablgtk/LablGL hump : for each widget, it references some applications that use it.
