You are right. Note that the Gtk 2.0 replacement for clist offer this
(see "Editable cells" in gtk-demo.

What about using a dumb table widget inside of a scrolled window? Or, if
you need row selection, a list (not clist) widget, but it would be
harder to align everal columns.
